Wonderful resort in an excellent location. Harbor view was glorious and you can walk to just about everything - food, shops, boats, etc. - from the resort. The indoor and outdoor pools are well-maintained and very nice. The suites are large - we had a two bedroom - and comfortable. The kitchen has a full size stove/oven (something that other timeshares in Newport do not have) so you could cook a meal if you were so inclined. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The master bedroom has a king size bed, master bathroom with built in Jaccuzzi tub and a TV in an armoire. The master bath also contains the washer/dryer unit. The second bedroom, which is located at the opposite end of the suite, has two twin beds, a TV and it's own bathroom with tub/shower. There's also a large dining table and a living room/sitting area with a fold out sofa bed and a LARGE TV with DVD and VHS video tape player and a CD player. The unit we stayed in had a small but comfortable balcony that was enclosed on three sides (roof and walls) on each end of the unit. It appears that all units have balconies, but while most are enclosed like ours and some are open and a bit larger. I imagine that sitting out on an open deck in the hot summer sun would not be too much fun. The cleaning service was friendly and efficient.

Now for the (few) negatives (and the reason I give the place four stars instead of five):

the biggest complaint was the parking situation. Each unit is assigned one parking space. When we asked about parking for a guest's car for a day, we were told that the office has no way of knowing what spaces, if any, would be available on any given day and that we'd have to check back the morning of the day the guests were to arrive. Well, I did that, and they still couldn't tell me if they had a space and our guests would have to park elsewhere. I did check back again later when my guests actually arrived and this time the person on duty (a different one from the one I spoke to earlier) found a space with no trouble at all. I can't understand why they cannot keep track of the parking spaces. After all, they know when people are checking in and out, right?

Another annoying thing: The keycard system they use was cranky. Our magnetic keycards would suddenly stop opening doors (no, we didn't run them over magnets, put them near cell phones, or otherwise abuse them) or some doors would open and others wouldn't. This happened four times over seven days.

Minor nit-picks: The washer/dryer unit in the master bedroom was very noisy and you might not be able to sleep with it running. Also, the way the doors are laid out in the master bathroom (door to the bathroom and door to the closet that contains the washer/dryer) is stupid. You can't open one without closing the other, and look out for the overhead light fixture when you open the closet door!

but that's just very minor stuff. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly go back again. In fact, we're looking into purchasing a week there. My 3 year old cried when we were packing up to leave. I almost did too!

John,

It was AMAZING! We loved the layout of the place, the 2 decks (especially the one on the harbor side), we loved the pool and used the BBQ grills and horseshoe pit. Also, it was great to be in walking distance to the downtown action. It was perfect for us! There was two TVs and two VCRs and a stereo.  The only thing I was surprised by was that there was no CD player . I just assumed it'd be there, but that's ok- it was not a big loss at all.

The grounds of the place are very well maintained and the staff was superb. We loved it so much I think we'll make it annual event!

I am going to make a trip to Newport for Labor day weekend and am looking for a place to stay for 3 nights.

Mike

When we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised. It was a 1st class place. It had 2 bedrooms, one with king bed, TV, bathroom w/whirlpool bath. The other bedroom : 2 twin
beds. Living room was very modernly decorated w/big screen TV, VCR, and a beautiful Marble fireplace. The living room overlooked the ocean. The Dining room had a cherry wood
table & chairs. The kitchen, hummm I don't remember much other than a microwave, coffee pot, fridge. I'm sure there was more but I don't recall. (I must not have done any cooking) They did have a washer & dryer.

The resort had tennis courts, indoor & outdoor pool. Newport was a wonderful town to visit, with lots & lots to see.

The condo was perfect for us. I like the settings. The master bedroom is separated. So my husband and I can easily go out at night and leave the kids with the nanny. The pool and tennis court are very convenient.

The playground is not too far from the condo. I loved the view and the easy access to the "downtown". But far away enough to avoid the "noise"

I have always been pleased with the unit and the staff are always pleasant - in season there are a lot of activities going on - the indoor pool is very large and the outdoor pool very comfortable - kiddie pool.
It's within walking distance of everything in Newport  - the Topiary Gardens - some of the stately homes on Bellevue and area are also within walking distance - a sturdy person could also walk to the excellent new EastSide Market on Bellevue -

The unit was spotless -everything worked - has full size fridge - large micro - large toaster oven - huge electric skillet - all in excellent condition - washer and dryer in unit are a great convenience - dishwasher also - iron and
ironing board - games and books in lounge - in season also have wine and cheese get together -

View of bay is magnificent.

In season best brunch in town is Ocean Cliff - any time Le Bistro on Bowen's Wharf is open - best
restaurant in Newport [24 years] pricey but worth it - excellent wine list with wine by the glass - large
variety.

Under building parking on first come first served basis.

Rate this a 9.5

Beautiful view of harbor and sunsets off balcony! 2BR/2BA, Kit. & W/D, whirlpool in unit. Close to everything, park & walk or bike for the entire visit. I/D & O/D pools, kiddie pool, tennis on site.
